The reporters of Zhongshan Daily recently paid a visit to Sandun Village, Yicang Village, Xinping No.4 Village, Xinping Village and Yu'an Village of Minzhong Town for investigation and interview. The spotlight was turned on the the great changes and vigorous vitality in the countryside.

Minzhong, a famous Lingnan Water Town, enjoys the most beautiful natural landscapes and ecological environment within the Pearl River Delta. It holds the reputations of "National Beautiful Town" and "Guangdong Famous Tourism Town".

Since 2016, Minzhong has been actively promoting the construction of beautiful villages relying on its unique ecological advantages of Lingnan Water Village. Presently, it has built a city-level beautiful village demonstration belt covering Xinjian, Yicang and Yu'an villages.

In terms of ecological livability, Minzhong has carried out a series of environment improvement campaigns. Water pollution in the town is currently under effective control, with rural decentralized domestic sewage treatment facilities being built. There is always a recreation green land 500m around each family.

In terms of industrial development, Minzhong has built 7,100 mu of national safe and high-quality vegetable standardization demonstration areas and 2,000 mu of municipal modern fishery demonstration bases. The town has also incubated 3 municipal family farms and 8 farmers' professional cooperatives, in addition to introducing a batch of agriculture bases and leading companies.

In terms of rural civilization, Minzhong puts great efforts into traditional culture inheritance, with the "Minzhong Park Revolutionary Martyrs Monument" and the "Hui Ji Yi Cang Stele" being well protected. The long-lost "Rice Bucket Racing" reappears and has been included in the city-level intangible cultural heritage list.
