Before this year's Children's Day, Guangdong Women's Federation had named 104 communities (villages) as the eighth batch of "Guangdong Child Friendly Model Communities", including 5 in Zhongshan. They are Lanbian Village in Nanlang Town, Xinmao Village in Henglan Town, Liangdu Community in South District, Changmingshui Village in Wuguishan District, and Xinshi Community in Xiaolan Town.

So far, Zhongshan has a total of 29 provincial-level "Child Friendly Model Communities". 

It is reported that all communities (villages) in Zhongshan had created "child friendly communities" by the end of 2016. Up to date, a total amount of 15 million yuan of financial and social funds is used in building child friendly communities in order to provide a better environment for the happy growth of Zhongshan children.
