The Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province is currently arranging the second batch of social workers for the "Double Hundred Plan". It proposes to set up social work service stations in 207 townships (blocks) of 19 cities. Such stations will be constructed and operated with funds at the provincial, municipal and county levels.
Zhongshan will set up social work service stations for the "Double Hundred Plan" in South District and Dongfeng Town, with 5 social workers to be recruited respectively.
According to the Zhongshan Civil Affairs Bureau, the interview stage of the selection work has started, where only 30 out of 63 applicants will be selected as interviewees. Interviews will be conducted at the bureau on 9 June with a pass ratio of 1:3.
It is reported that the service target of the second batch of social workers for the "Double Hundred Plan" include: households enjoying the minimum living guarantee, people in extreme poverty, the poor and the severely disabled, vagrants and beggars, left-behind and distressed children, left-behind elderly persons, as well as other groups in need such as poor households, juveniles involved in delinquency, and etc.
As stipulated in this Plan, social workers are required to assist in implementing policies, comprehensively assess the problems, needs and abilities of individuals and families, and carry out professional and personalized services such as psychological counseling, humanistic care, capacity enhancement, livelihood development, relationship adjustment and social integration.
