According to a report released on June 10 by Amap, a Chinese leading mapping service provider, Zhongshan urban city's all-day traffic performance index was 1.46 in May, down 3.31% from April. The average daily car speed stood at 36.34 km/h, almost the same as that in April.
The report indicated that road traffic congestion in urban areas was improved to some extent. However, "mild traffic congestion" was still seen at morning and evening rush hours on weekdays.
As of the end of May, there were about 1.4478 million motor vehicles in Zhongshan. The daily traffic flow in urban city averaged 1.1071 million, showing a decline of 3.73% over April. (from Guangzhou Daily)
