TV series The Thunder have seen soaring audience ratings since its first episode. The "Tazhai Village" scenes in the play were mainly shot at Chadong Village in Nanlang Town, Zhongshan City. In that case, Chadong Village has become a "must visit" place for "The Thunder" fans for days. There were even more stalls opened at the village entrance for those visitors.
Thunderstorm did not prevent tourists from exploring this popular village on June 11. Ms Huang, along with her daughter and granddaughter, drove from Zhuhai to visit Chadong Village. "We followed the navigation all the way from Zhuhai and pulled over when we saw the Chen's Ancestral Hall. It looks familiar here, and we realize this place is the 'Tazhai Village' in The Thunder," said Ms Huang. She and her took photos in front the oyster shell wall of the Temple Of Guan Yu and appreciated the Chen's Ancestral Hall.
Since Chadong Village became the main shooting location for The Thunder, villagers have sensed business opportunities. On weekends, they set up more stalls at the entrance of the village to sell drinks and food to tourists. "We could sell hundreds of rice seed cakes a day," said villagers.
"It is foreseeable that people will pour into Chadong Village in the future. But we hope the village can remain its original appearance, with more attention paid to the protection of cultural relics and historic sites," some tourists suggested.
