The Zhongshan Overseas NGO Management Office was inaugurated at the Zhongshan Public Security Bureau on June 11. Its responsibilities include:
•Managing and supervising overseas NGOs that operate in Zhongshan;
•Conducting special investigations and treatment on illegal activities carried out by overseas NGOs;
•Investigating and treating illegal acts of overseas NGOs according to law;
•Providing policy consultation, information dissemination and other services for overseas NGOs;
•Guiding, supervising and inspecting relevant functional departments in the management of overseas NGOs.
Overseas NGOs, Chinese partners and other organizations or individuals may call 0760-8716-1462 or 135-9089-0519 during working hours to consult the office about registration and filing matters.
Since the implementation of the Administrative Law on the Activities of Overseas NGOs in the Mainland China from January 1, 2017, more than 80 overseas NGOs have been operating in Zhongshan, involving culture, charity, health, medical care, and other areas.
Currently, 2 overseas NGOs have been registered and set up their representative offices in Zhongshan. In addition, 9 temporary activities of overseas NGOs have been filed in accordance with law.
