Zhongshan launched the "Safe Blood for Everyone" publicity campaign on the morning of June 16 to commemorate World Blood Donor Day. 

At the event, a total of 846 voluntary blood donors in Zhongshan received the National Voluntary Blood Donation Award. In addition, 38 people won the Star-level Volunteer Service Award, 10 won the Lifetime Honor Award for Volunteer Service, and 6 won the Voluntary Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donation Award. Meanwhile, the Zhongshan Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee also won the National Blood Donation Promotion Award.

Besides, Zhongshan was awarded the National Advanced City of Voluntary Blood Donation Award for the 10th time.

From October 1, 1998 to the end of December 2018, Zhongshan people donated blood for 790,112 times, with a total blood volume of 196.78 tons.
