The "general factory" of Ruida Furniture.

Zhongshan Ecological Environment Bureau was invited to share the city's experience and achievements in "general factory" construction at the Volatile Organic Compound (VOCs) Prevention and Control Technologies Forum of the Guangdong Exchange Meeting on Pollution Prevention and Control on the morning of June 12.

"General factory" refers to the physical factory that provides OEM services for such industries as furniture. At present, the "general factory" of Ruida Furniture, built in Dachong town, Zhongshan City, offers centralized spraying for furniture enterprises in the surrounding areas. It helps standardize and manage the unregulated exhaust emissions of the furniture industry, reduce exhaust pollution of enterprises, and form a new efficient and intensive production and operation mode.

Zhongshan's "general factory" atmospheric governance model has been highly recognized by the Guangdong People's Government. As stated in the "2018 Work Plans for Winning the Blue Sky Defense Battle", enterprises are "encouraged to refer to Foshan and Zhongshan's experience in adopting 'general factory' for polluting production processes in furniture and other industries, to achieve centralized treatment of pollutants for similar enterprises and improve the pollution control level".

Data shows that in 2018, the ozone concentration of Zhongshan City decreased by 8.8% year-on-year, ranking second province-wide. The number of days with fine air quality increased by 27 year-on-year, the growing rate of which ranks first across the province. (from Guangzhou Daily)
