6 ministries including MOHURD recently published the list for the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages, with 2,666 villages across China enrolled. 4 villages in Zhongshan were among the list, namely, Aoshan Village in Huangpu Town, Longtouhuan Village in Shaxi Town, Lanbian Chadong Village in Nanlang Town, and Antang Village in Dachong Town.

Traditional villages are regarded as "memory of the nation", the epitome of farming civilization and countryside culture. Making the China Traditional Villages list not only represent an honor for the village, but also means that it will receive state and local support and supervision in terms of capital, planning and design.

Taking Aoshan Village as an example. It is the most ancient village in Huangpu Town. The existing Nanyue Lane, Beiyue Lane and Shiling Lane in the village have a history of more than 700 years. The village also has about 20 large and small ancestral halls. Besides, the sea erosion site and the ancient pier site of the Song Dynasty usually attract domestic and foreign tourists.

Cuiheng Village in Nanlang Town and Guhe Village in Sanxiang Town were enrolled previously. So far, Zhongshan has a total of 6 China traditional villages.
