The Yueshan Park upgrade and renovation project began on June 25 and is expected to reach completion in November.

Located on Sunwen Middle Road in Zhongshan downtown, Yueshan Park was founded in 1934 and has a long history of 85 years. The park is full of tall trees and surrounded by a group of old houses.

"Usually, there are not many tourists in the park, most of them just come to trace the old city walls and by the way tour around the park. There are also some aged people coming here for childhood memories," said a security officer.

In Yueshan Park, there are many banyan trees and some structures, such as pavilion, stone lions, stone mountains, memorial archway, and half platforms. The renovation includes the repainting of the structures in the park, road improvement, repair of the damaged walls, a new public toilet, plants upgrade, and additional street lights and monitoring facilities. All these will be done to make the park more comfortable and safer for visitors.
