The housing provident fund withdrawal policy of Zhongshan will be adjusted from July 1, and the maximum amount of provident fund withdrawal for other housing consumption will be raised to 600 yuan per month.

Housing provident fund withdrawal for other housing consumption applies to provident fund depositors who have property in Zhongshan but not meet the withdrawal requirements (purchasing, building, renovating or overhauling the house). They may withdraw 30% of the amount deposited in the preceding month every 30 days for other housing consumption (such as paying the property fee) once they have deposited housing provident fund for three consecutive months or more.

The previous monthly maximum withdrawal amount was 500 yuan.

The adjustment applies only to the withdrawal for other housing consumption. The withdrawal amount for house renting remained unchanged.

In addition, the Zhongshan Housing Fund Management Centre recently announced that the housing provident fund of children and their spouses could be used to support elevator installation for the houses of parents.

ZSHFMC said through a notice that from July 1, 2019, the policy of housing provident fund withdrawal for installing elevators in old buildings was revised as follows: "Where any employees and their spouses are the owners of existing residential buildings within the administrative area of Zhongshan and need to use the public areas of the buildings to install elevators, they, as well as their children and children's spouses, may apply for a lump-sum withdrawal of the housing provident fund within one year from the date of acceptance by the market supervision and  administration department, and the total amount of the housing provident fund withdrew shall not exceed the actual share of expenses for elevator installation."
