Zhongshan is now popularizing the use of electronic toll collection (ETC) devices on freeways.

As of May 14, there are about 504,000 ETC users in Zhongshan. It is estimated that the number of cars in Zhongshan will reach 1,144,500 by the end of 2019. To meet the requirement of "80% coverage rate for ETC use", Zhongshan needs another 411,600 ETC users.

"Citizens can apply for ETC device on-line and off-line, without any charge," said He Fenxuan, a customer service assistant of E-Serve Zhongshan sales office, Guangdong Unitoll Collection Inc.

To strengthen the promotion, ETC users will be granted a discount of 5% to freeway tolls nationwide from July 1.
