From June 21, Zhongshan started registration of electric bicycles that meet the new national standards and pass CCC certification. As of July 1, a total of 423 e-bikes in Zhongshan have been registered and granted with a license plate.

In order to facilitate the registration and license plate installation for citizens, Zhongshan has set up e-bike registration service stations at the Vehicle Management Station Daling Business Office of Zhongshan Traffic Police Corps as well as 7 districts and towns including Shiqi District, Nantou Town, Torch Development Zone, Dongsheng Town, Guzhen Town, Tanzhou Town and Sanxiang Town.

The 7 service stations in districts and towns are offering registration service under a "Selling with License" mode. Another 6 e-bike retailers are also apply for establishment of "registration service stations".

By the end of 2019, all districts and town will have e-bike registration service stations. Citizens can purchase electric bicycles with license plates installed nearby.

"'Selling with License' means the electric bicycles for sale have been pre-registered. Citizens only need to register their personal information when buying a new e-bike," said an official of the traffic police department.

Zhongshan is the first pilot city in Guangdong to implement the "Selling with License" mode. In an effort to facilitate direct registration for citizens buying electric bicycles, the traffic police department encourages qualified sellers to apply for establishment of "registration service stations".
