Zhongshan launched the 2019 Greater Bay Area Internship Program for the Youth of Macao and Hong Kong on July 7. A total of 6 youths from Macao and 55 from Hong Kong arrived in Zhongshan in succession. They were enrolled into more than 10 local institutions and companies in order for them to start their summer internships and experience Zhongshan's employment environment, workplace culture and business management and operation modes.
Six Macao youths from renowned universities such as the University of Macau and the University of London came to Zhongshan as the first batch of interns. They will go to the Zhongshan Branch of the Agricultural Bank of China, Zhongshan Institute of Drug and Food Control, and the Zhongshan Branch of China Life for their internships from July 6 to August 17.
The second batch of 55 Hong Kong youths will begin a four-week internship as from July 25. A total of 12 public institutions and companies, including the Zhongshan Planning Design Institute, the Zhongshan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the Zhongshan Branch of China Telecom and Elephant Sculpture Art Co Ltd, will thus provide 56 jobs for them.
In order to help these youths from Hong Kong and Macao better understand Zhongshan, a variety of cultural experience activities will be organized for them. They will visit the Museum of Dr Sun Yat-sen, Xiangshan Commercial Cultural Museum, and Chinese Rosewood Culture Expo City in Dachong Town. They will equally draw experience from making Cha Guo (a traditional refreshment), rice-flour noodle and wood engraving picture in Sanxiang Town. Besides, they will also visit the representative companies and characteristic industrial bases of Zhongshan so as to gain knowledge from the advantages and highlights of Zhongshan's economic development.
