'Bay Area of Humanities' establishment in progress

The first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival, jointly organized by the Guangdong provincial government, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as the Hong Kong and Macao SAR governments, kicked off in the hot June. Over 100 activities will be held in 11 cities to provide people in the Greater Bay Area with a grand art feast.

As a parallel session, Zhongshan hosted 3 blockbusting events to showcase the swinging cultural life of the city and the charming cultural circle of the Greater Bay Area.

On the evening of June 23, the "Greater Bay Area Stage" featuring Cantonese opera was staged at the Grand Theater of Zhongshan Culture & Art Center, with renowned Cantonese opera performers and rising stars from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao sharing the stage.

What came next was the "Beauty of Intangible Inheritance" Zhongshan Intangible Cultural Heritage Show. Intangible cultural heritage projects of Zhongshan, including Drunken Dragon, Salty Water Song, Hung Kuen, Kylin Dance and etc, as well as folk songs and folk music all appeared on the evening of July 6 at the Zhongshan Culture & Art Center square and drew people's attention to the inheritance of excellent traditional culture.

As a finale, the "Build Dreams in the Greater Bay Area" Concert - A Tribute to the Classics was performed on the evening of July 7 at the Grand Theater of Zhongshan Culture & Art Center. The theater was filled with singing and passions.

As the Greater Bay Area construction ramps up, cultural exchanges and cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong and Macao are continuously boosted. The three places are jointly creating a common spiritual and humanistic home, which will provide stronger humanistic support for the construction and development of the Greater Bay Area.
