According to Zhongshan Public Utilities Group (ZPUG), Guangming Market will move to the Zhongshan Produce Trading Center on July 28. Citizens will wholesale or purchase aquatic products and seafood at No.39, Caihong Avenue, West District in the future.
Guangming Market, currently located on Guangming Road in the downtown, has been in operation for 30 years, with a business area of about 18,000 square meters and an annual seafood sale reaching one million tons, thus becoming one of the major markets of aquatic products.
However, restricted by its site conditions and facilities, the market has no longer met the development requirements in the new era. Based on the plot of the Shalang Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market, ZPUG plans to build the Zhongshan Produce Trading Center and relocate Guangming Market as a whole to the center for operation.
There will be over 500 merchants in the new Guangming market, and 80% of them have completed their decoration.
It is known that the Zhongshan Produce Trading Center will become a comprehensive agricultural product wholesale market and distribution center of fruit, vegetables, aquatic products, frozen products, seafood, grain and oil, dry seasoning and etc. The first phase has already been in operation, mainly engaging in the wholesale, processing and distribution of vegetables and fruits.
