The launch ceremony of the "100 Caring Families Pairing Up with 100 Left-Behind Children" activity under the theme "Love between Zhongshan and Zhaotong" was organized on July 21 at the Zhongshan Workers' Culture Palace.

As reported, 100 voluntary caring families from Zhongshan will go to Zhaotong, Yunnan Province in three batches on July 24, August 14 and August 19 respectively in a bid to carry out five-day love-supporting events. These Zhongshan families will also hand out supplies and student grants to children there.

According to incomplete statistics, there are over 100,000 rural left-behind children in Zhaotong, including 14,000 registered underprivileged left-behind children. They have long been separated from their parents and lack family affection. 

Since Zhongshan and Zhaotong established anti-poverty cooperation in September 2016, caring groups from all works of life in Zhongshan have actively donated money and supplies. In 2018, the donation reached up to 125 million yuan, thereby playing an active role in helping Zhaotong fight against poverty.
