The Mid-Autumn Festival is still one month away and mooncakes have gradually been marketed. As a big mooncake production city, Zhongshan registers the largest production and export volume of Cantonese-style mooncakes in China every year.

The Zhongshan Administration for Market Regulation has in August launched a food safety special inspection before the Mid-Autumn Festival to improve the quality and safety supervision of mooncake production in Zhongshan and preserve its quality.

The inspection targets supermarkets with a large visitors flow rate, large and medium food stores, etc. This sample inspection goes for all mooncake manufacturing companies. The excepted number of spot checks totals over 300 batches, with the inspection result to be released in early September.

The Zhongshan Administration for Market Regulation reminds consumers that it is important to check quality when buying mooncakes, and kindly dial 12345 to report any food safety issues.
