The Zhongshan Health Bureau on August 13 held a press conference on the research achievements in Zhongshan on nasopharyngeal cancer screening.

Since 2009, more than 70,000 people in Zhongshan have been screened. Among them, over 100 cases of nasopharyngeal cancer were found, more than 75% of which were early stage patients.

It is particularly worth mentioning that Ji Mingfang's team of the Cancer Research Institute of Zhongshan has made a great breakthrough in their research; early asymptomatic nasopharyngeal cancer can now be screened. Related papers have been published in the internationally renowned oncology journal, Annals of Oncology. 

Zhongshan is a high-risk area for nasopharyngeal cancer, with an average of 300 to 350 cases of nasopharyngeal cancer found each year.
