At the invitation of the Taiwan Kinship Association of Zhongshan City, 25 members of the Mainland Spouses Home Returning Exchange Group returned to their hometown Zhongshan on August 16 to start a 5-day tour and exchange activity.

On the first day, the exchange group went to Sanxiang and enjoyed the scenery of Luosanmei Mountain, strolled through the Xiaolanghuan Park and visited some local enterprises.

The next day, the exchange group came to Xiaolan to experience the characteristic wine making culture in Jucheng Liquor Factory and they relished the mellow taste of Tuwei wine and chrysanthemum wine.

As the leader of the exchange group, Lei Shukui, whose parents live in Dutou Village, South District, got married in Taiwan in 1995 and settled in Nantou County. She only returned to her hometown every one or two years to visit her relatives due to her work and family. "Every time I return to Zhongshan, I can feel the rapid development of my hometown. I was amazed and delighted by the convenient transportation, clean and tidy environment and other changes." 

Lei said that as a Zhongshan local, she was always proud of her hometown. "In Taiwan, whenever I say that I am from Zhongshan, people remark that Zhongshan is the hometown of a great man."

In the following days, the exchange group would also visit the Shenzhen Reform and Opening-Up Exhibition Hall, Qianhai Special Economic Zone, Shaxi town, Zhongshan Archives and other sites.
