August 19 marked the second Chinese Medical Workers' Day. The Zhongshan Health Bureau organized a summing-up meeting in the morning for a series of activities to celebrate Medical Workers' Day.

During this meeting, deputy mayor Xu Xiaoli presented the "Best Doctors in Zhongshan" awards to 10 doctors, including Wang Dongna, Long Xinzhi, Su Yuanyuan, Li Xusong, Zhou Liangjun, Guo Yilian, Liang Ganxiong, Liang Lihong, Li Zhicheng and Dai Jianming. Eight organizations that won prizes at the Zhongshan CPR Competition were equally honored.

Health care talents are constantly increasing in Zhongshan. There are 8,800 (assistant) medical practitioners, and the number of practitioners per 1,000 permanent residents is 2.66 in Zhongshan, ranking 5th in Guangdong.
