This year marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of Dr Sun Yat-sen's "Nation-building Strategy". On August 19, Qiu Shuhong, chairman of the CPPCC Zhongshan Committee, also a council member of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, led a team of Sun Yat-sen culture scholars in Guangdong to Shanghai to attend the "Nation-building Strategy and Chinese Dream" Symposium.

The symposium was jointly organized by the CPPCC Zhongshan Committee and the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Research Association. More than 10 experts and scholars from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Zhongshan discussed on such topics as the social background, theoretical basis, historical significance and time value of the "Nation-building Strategy".

At the subsequent study and exchange seminar, Qiu gave a special lecture and proposed to further integrate political commemoration, academic research, economic society, people's livelihoods and the world's contribution to the process of promoting Sun Yat-sen culture.

On August 20, Qiu and the scholar team also visited the Shanghai Museum of Dr Sun Yat-Sen, former temporary residence of Sun Yat-sen, former Siyan Hall in the East China University of Political Science and Law and other historical sites related to Sun Yat-Sen in Shanghai.
