The 2nd China National Furniture Carving Vocational Skills Competition (CNFCVSC) Zhongshan Division, jointly sponsored by the Guangdong Furniture Association, Dachong People's Government and Dachong Federation of Trade Unions, will kick of at Chinese Rosewood Culture Expo City in mid-to-late September. Applications for the competition will end on September 6.

The CNFCVSC which is co-sponsored by the China National Light Industry Council and China National Furniture Association is divided into two stages, namely qualification trials and finals. Qualification trials are held in 7 regions including Zhongshan of Guangdong Province, Dongyang of Zhejiang Province and Xianyou of Fujian Province.

Zhongshan Division includes 2 groups, namely staff group and college group. The staff group is for employees that are engaged in rosewood furniture carving in Zhongshan, while the college group is for students of related majors in local colleges and universities. A number of "Star Craftsmen" will be selected from the staff group, and the gold prize winners will be rewarded 20,000 yuan each. A number of "Star Youth Craftsman" will be selected from the college group, and the gold prize winners will be rewarded 5,000 yuan each.
