Since the beginning of 2019, Zhongshan has been hit by three typhoons, namely Mun, Wipha and Bailu.

Presently, Zhongshan is in the main flood season when typhoons are most active. More than a month from now to mid-October is the most critical phase against typhoons.

Meteorological department forecasts that from mid-September to mid-October, two typhoons may cause landfalls or seriously affect Guangdong Province. Consequently, Zhongshan may face the real threat from typhoons of force 12 and above between September and October.

On the afternoon of September 9, Zhongshan held a city-wide meeting on typhoon prevention, during which an in-depth situation analysis was conducted to find out the existing problems in the previous stage of typhoon prevention. Moreover, remobilization, re-deployment and re-implementation for the next stage of typhoon prevention were carried out.
