At the Zhongshan Station of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity Railway, a container marked "Food Safety Station" is placed in the open space away from the exit towards the passageway of the bus station. The station has an area of 7 or 8 square meters with an air-conditioner inside. Passengers can relax and learn about Zhongshan cuisine while they wait.
This container is part of the food safety and culture tour organized by the Zhongshan Food Safety Office taking place from the end of August until October. Since the container received good results from the earlier stage, the Zhongshan Food Safety Office is now considering turning the short-term tour exhibition into a regular one.
The "Food Safety Station" mainly publicizes four major themes. They firstly include the "Twelve Hours for Zhongshan's Food Safety" and Zhongshan Food Map to introduce Zhongshan's food culture. Secondly, the "Effectiveness of Food Safety Supervision" to summarize the full-dimensional prevention and control concerning Zhongshan food safety supervision, and the future work plan. Thirdly, "Food Safety Knowledge" to publicize practical food safety knowledge concerning dining out, buying food, food preservation, food poisoning prevention, etc. And lastly, "Disproving Food Safety Rumors" to spread accurate food safety knowledge.
