As an over 30-year-old community, Huayuan New Village is managed by no property management company. Like most old communities in the city, the Village faces two major problems: parking space shortage, and lack of fitness and recreation facilities.

Thus, the Huayuan Community administration plans to renovate the Village with East District's rural revitalization special funds. Plans include building public facilities on a piece of unused concrete land with a length of 35 meters and a width of 10 meters in the Village.

After research, the Community came up with three proposals. The first option is to convert the land into 17 parking spaces. The second is to convert half of the land into activity venues and the other half into 8 parking spaces. The last one is to convert the land into leisure venues such as badminton courts and a community-based children's park.

These proposals were fully deliberated at the meeting. The third one was announced to be recognized by most residents after a ballot.

According to Huang Minrui, Party Secretary of Huayuan Community, the proposal No.3 would be revised in accordance with experts' and residents' opinions, and the final version would be announced publicly in a wider scope.

The meeting successfully concluded in over 30 minutes, after which quite a few residents also further communicated with deputies to the Municipal People's Congress on community renovation and management.
