For Su Zhenfei (net name "Yi Fei"), a post-80s photographer in Zhongshan, the coolest thing he has ever done is to record Zhongshan's most beautiful landscapes from the air by using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for over a thousand times in just four years.
Born in Shiqi District of Zhongshan, Su Zhenfei works as a structure designer in an architecture design institute in Zhongshan after graduation from university.
Su Zhenfei was deeply impressed by the beauty of Zhongshan when he walked into the Daliao Reservoir, which is known as "the last Shangri-La of Zhongshan", for the first time in 2010. Since then, he has been engaging in capturing the city's natural beautiful scenery, mountains and rivers as well as urban appearance.
By a chance, in 2015, Su Zhenfei bought his first UAV. He soon fell in love with the experience of overlooking the city from the sky.
Over the past four years, due to his love for hometown, Su Zhenfei has looked through Zhongshan in days and nights with his UAV device.
In December 2018, Su Zhenfei uploaded a four-minute aerial video, dubbed "Beautiful Zhongshan in Our Heart", to show the most beautiful views of Zhongshan he had captured in four years.
Besides, Su Zhenfei also released an aerial photo album, dubbed "Say Goodbye to Our Alma Maters". With 19 aerial photos of 19 local high schools, Su Zhenfei presented the album to high school graduates as a graduation gift. The photo album was viewed by over 10,000 people.
In September 2019, just before the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Su Zhenfei uploaded a short aerial video "Growing Together with Zhongshan", for which he spent a year filming 70 scenes that can represent Zhongshan. The video shows the most amazing images of the 1,800-square-kilometer area of the city.
"I hope I can create at least one short video with Zhongshan features every year," Su Zhenfei said. "They would be the best gifts for my hometown."
