A total of 31 couples in Zhongshan went through the marriage registration at the Zhongshan Marriage Registration Center on October 1 to celebrate their big day together with the Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China. 

On the morning of the same day, the Zhongshan Marriage Registration Center specially prepared an exhibition of local marriage customs and marriage certificates in different periods in the course of the 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, so that many newlyweds who are preparing to enter the marriage hall will remember the deep love for the past and cherish their hard-earned happiness. 

Zhang Jiefeng and Ruan Mei from Torch Development Zone were classmates from junior middle school to university. After graduating from university, Zhang Jiefeng joined the armed police force in Shanwei City and returned to his hometown in September 2019. They decided to register on National Day. 

Ruan Mei told Zhongshan Daily that, they chose National Day because it was a day of universal celebration. They also wanted to share the joy and happiness of their new marriage with others while celebrating China's birthday.
