Liu Weixin, a firefighter who has served for five years in Special Services Squadron of Zhongshan Fire Fighting Force, shook hands, hugged and said goodbye to his brothers who had accompanied him on numerous missions for many years.
The 23-year-old is a native of Meizhou, Guangdong Province. He joined the army as a firefighter in 2014, when he was assigned to the Special Services Squadron of Zhongshan Fire Fighting Force.
"Of course, I am reluctant to leave. But I want to go out and try new things while I am still young." Speaking of his plans, Liu said he had always had the idea of working in the catering industry and planned to start his own business.
Huang Jintian, 25, from Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, also joined the army in 2014 and was assigned to the Dongsheng Squadron of Zhongshan Fire Fighting Force.
Over the past 5 years, he has been involved in thousands of firefighting and rescue missions and has narrowly cheated death many times. After leaving the firefighting brigade, he plans to return to his hometown to work and live with his parents and be filial to them.
