The Information Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province on November 4 held a press conference to introduce the importance of the first Conference of Overseas Chinese in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

This Conference, with the theme "Gathering the Power of Overseas Chinese to Promote the Construction of the Greater Bay Area", will be organized in Guangzhou from November 11 to 15. It aims to give full play to the advantages of overseas Chinese and ethnic Chinese in Guangdong, boost the construction of the Greater Bay Area and serve the Belt and Road Initiative.

This Conference is expected to have about 500 attendees. So far, 440 overseas Chinese representatives from 108 countries and regions have accepted the invitation, including people from 33 Belt and Road countries and outstanding people with international influence in the political, economic, scientific and technological, educational, media and other fields.

Among the many activities, the highlight will be the special promotion meeting for 9 Pearl River Delta cities in the Greater Bay Area. It will introduce the ideas and policy initiatives of the 9 cities for the construction of the Greater Bay Area. The Conference will also organize overseas guests to visit important cities in the Greater Bay Area to help them have a comprehensive, multi-angle, in-depth understanding of Guangdong's real tricks in the construction of the Greater Bay Area.

Zhongshan is a famous overseas Chinese hometown. During their visit to the Greater Bay Area, overseas guests will visit Sun Yat-sen's former residence to experience Zhongshan's cultural heritage.
