South China's first "British EAL Certification Center" was inaugurated at  Zhongshan Torch Polytechnic (ZSTP) on November 27.

Excellence, Achievement and Learning Ltd (EAL) is an employer-accredited certification authority in UK's engineering and manufacturing industries and related industries. It is the only certification authority to invest in the areas and workers it serves.

ZSTP's "Mold Design and Manufacture" specialty is the third in China and the first in South China to adopt EAL international professional certification.

Li Guoxi, deputy director of the Zhongshan Education and Sports Bureau, said that the establishment of the first EAL Certification Center in South China at ZSTP was another major milestone in the development of vocational education in Zhongshan. He hoped to closely combine the center's construction with modern apprenticeship and school-enterprise cooperation, innovate the international modern apprenticeship vocational education cooperation project in Zhongshan, and create a high-quality technical personnel training base that can serve Zhongshan's economic revitalization and high-quality development.
