According to media reports, Michael Lai Siu-tin, a Hong Kong-born composer from Zhongshan, passed away at 7:55 am on December 1 at the age of 73.

During his lifetime, Lai not only performed on stage, but also produced numerous records and composed a large number of pop songs. Among them, apart from the theme song "The Great Wall Never Falls" of tv play "The Legendary Fok", there are a variety of theme songs and interludes of classic movies and tv plays such as "Ask Me", "The Grace of the Earth" and "Tears Drop on the Journey".

As a composer with his ancestral home in Zhongshan, Lai not only returned to Zhongshan many times before his death, but also composed lyrics for Zhongshan together with Qiu Shuhong, chairman of the CPPCC Zhongshan Committee.

These two collaborated last year on the song called  "Admiration".  Qiu Shuhong in this song is able to feel Lai's homesickness. "Such affections are like a spring of water. After years of precipitation, it bursts out and touches people's hearts," Qiu said.
