3 bus stops on Kanghua Road expected to open this month

The construction of the BRT (bus rapid transit) east ring is in full swing, according to the Zhongshan Transportation Bureau. The project covers 9 BRT bus stations along Kanghua Road and Changjiang Road.

Specifically, the construction of 6 bus stops along Changjiang Road has kicked off and is expected to reach completion by late next year. The six bus stops include: No.7 (Kanghua Road), No.8 (Rose Villa), No.9 (Sun Wen Middle Road), No.10 (Zhongshan No.5 Road), No.11 (Honda 4S Store) and No.12 (Flyover of Bo'ai Road).

The 3 bus stops along Kanghua Road have been completed and are expected to be put into trial operation by late this month.

The BRT west ring passes through Cuijing Avenue, Cuisha Road, Qifeng Road and others, along which there are 8 bus stations to be simultaneously built with the road reconstruction. Improvements to be made on these roads have not yet been initiated.

The BRT ring line project is about 25.6 km in length, with 1 main line and 13 branch lines, together with 1 east-west trunk line and 7 branches in the first phase, will form a line network that runs through Torch Development Zone, Shiqi District, East District, West District, South District, Gangkou Town, Shaxi Town and Dachong Town.
