The Zhongshan Public Security Traffic Police Detachment and the Zhongshan Municipal Postal Administration jointly held a launch ceremony for the registration service of electric bicycles on December 10 at the South District Branch of the China Post. 

Since that day, 32 post offices in towns and districts are able to handle the registration of electric bicycles.

Currently, there have been a total of 99 service points across Zhongshan which are able to handle the registration of electric bicycles. A combined total of 11,295 registrations and licenses have been issued.

The traffic police department wishes to remind electric bicycle owners with models that meet the old national standards should apply for temporary registration as soon as possible (by December 31). They should also apply for temporary license plates which are valid for 3 years (April 15, 2019 to April 15, 2022). Those e-bikes without temporary registrations will be not allowed to run on the road.
