The 2019 Overseas Chinese (Zhongshan) Essay Competition held its award ceremony in Macao on December 14, with about 60 representatives of the winners participating.

Awards were presented to the winners of the first, second and third prizes of student group, outstanding competition organizers and excellent instructors.

The closing ceremony of the 2019 Overseas Chinese Friendship Conference and an art show took place after the award ceremony.

It is reported that the 2019 Overseas Chinese (Zhongshan) Essay Competition has been organized for 6 consecutive sessions. Under the general theme "Same Culture, Same Dream", activities for celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC and the 20th Anniversary of Macao's Return were additionally organized this year. A total of 1,060 works have been received and 324 have thus obtained awards.

A calligraphy works exhibition and the Liang Jiekang Paper-cut Works Exhibition were also organized on December 14, thus attracting many  participants.
