Platform to be used to handle minor traffic accidents
Updated: 2019-12-26    Source: Zhongshan Daily Large Medium Small Print

Starting from January 1, 2020, Zhongshan City will utilize the online platform "Guangdong 110" to handle minor traffic accidents. Once the platform is active, motor vehicle drivers who are involved in minor traffic accidents can simply use their smart phones for online responsibility identification and online submission of an accident agreement or confirmation. The procedure only takes a few minutes to complete. This platform will help motor vehicle drivers save time as they will no longer need to wait for the traffic police and insurance company personnel to come to the accident site. This helpful feature will effectively reduce road congestion caused by minor traffic accidents.

In late November, the Zhongshan traffic police department put "Guangdong 110" into a trial operation across the downtown area. From November 20 to December 20, some 349 minor traffic accidents were efficiently handled through this platform.

Beginning January 1, 2020, for minor traffic accidents that occur on roads (except expressways) in Zhongshan City, provided that the accidents do not cause casualties, the collided motor vehicles can still safely evacuate the scene unaided and the drivers carry valid certificates including a driving permit, driver's license and valid insurance information, drivers can handle the accidents through "Guangdong 110."
