Zhongshan last year invested 7.56 billion yuan in the "three olds reform" (old towns, old factory buildings and old villages). The city launched 106 new renovation projects with an area of 214.40 hectares, or 3,216 mu, and completed 86 projects with an area of 148.9 hectares. The total saved area is 952.45 mu (about 63.5 hectares), winning the third prize of the province in "three olds reform".

The old factory renovation of Zhongshan Fengheng Furniture Co Ltd in Gangkou Town was one of the city's "three olds reform" projects in 2019. The company spent 120 million yuan on this project, and after the renovation, the land will be used for furniture manufacturing, with an expected annual output value exceeding 300 million yuan.

In 2019, the Zhongshan Urban Renewal Bureau continuously optimized the review and approval services and improved its work efficiency. In 2020, the Bureau will further improve the "three olds reform" system, and strive to increase and implement the innovation of 466.7 hectares (7,000 mu) of land, including 233.3 hectares (3,500 mu) of old factory renovation area and 6 million square meters of new factory construction.
