The 2020 Spring Festival travel rush started on January 10 and will end on February 18, lasting for 40 days in total. On January 9, the Zhongshan Transportation Office of Spring Festival Travel Rush as well as traffic police, meteorological station, high-speed management and other departments issued forecast reports and reminders for the Spring Festival.

According to the reports, Zhongshan is expected to handle about 8.39 million road and waterway passengers this year. The peak departure times before the Spring Festival will occur from January 17 to 19, and the peak return times after the Spring Festival will occur from January 29 to 31.

During the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush, citizens can inquire about real-time traffic information in and around the province by following the WeChat account "gd-gaosutong" (Guangdong expressway information informer) or downloading its APP. Citizens can also keep informed of the latest traffic control information and real-time road conditions by following the Sina Weibo accounts "Zhongshan Traffic Police" and "Zhongshan Expressway Traffic Police", or by following the WeChat account "Zhongshan Traffic Police".
