Zhongshan Station handles over 7,000 passengers on day 1 of Spring Festival travel rush

On January 10, high-speed train D3608 departed from Zhongshan Station on time., kicking of Zhongshan's Spring Festival travel rush this year. On the first day of Spring Festival travel rush, Zhongshan Station received the first wave of passenger flow peaks, with more than 7,000 passengers in a single day.

"To cope with the periodical traffic congestion during the Spring Festival travel rush and reduce the waiting time for passengers to queue up to enter the station, Zhongshan Station launched an emergency plan and added one real-name verification channel," said Tan Hu, deputy director of the Zhongshan Station Police Station of the Guangzhou Railway Public Security Office.

Staff noted that the pre-festival peak passenger congestion of Zhongshan Station would occur from January 17 to 23.

At Zhongshan bus terminal, volunteers distributed publicity materials, such as instructions for scanning QR codes to buy tickets and transportation guides, to passengers.

"The first day of the Spring Festival travel rush is expected to transport 5,000 passengers," said Xian Guozhou, manager of Zhongshan bus terminal's traffic management department, adding that the passengers on the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush were mainly going to Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangxi and other provinces and regions. It is estimated that the overall passenger flow of Zhongshan bus terminal will drop by 15% this year.
