The Information Office of Zhongshan Municipal People's Government held a press conference on February 4 on epidemic prevention and control. It is reported that as of midnight on February 4, there were 31 confirmed cases in Zhongshan, including 1 critically ill patient.

After careful treatment by medical teams, the first 3 patients in Zhongshan were cured and discharged on the same day. They were a couple and their 11-month-old baby.

"This is the first batch of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infected pneumonia in Zhongshan that have reached etiological cure condition and released from isolation." Gao Wenjun, vice-president of Zhongshan Second People's Hospital, said that the 3 patients were in relatively mild condition. Their treatment did not involve hormone, and they will not need to take any medicine after being discharged. This disease would have no impact on their future lives.

During the press conference, the Information Office also reported on the treatment plan for the patients currently admitted by hospitals in Zhongshan. The Office also introduced Zhongshan's adjustment of a new medical insurance policy during the epidemic prevention and control period, as well as the regulation of public transportation routes, public transportation disinfection, and other epidemic prevention measures.
