Since the outbreak of COVID-19, a vast number of overseas fellow villagers and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan have given their full support to Zhongshan, their ancestral homeland, in fighting against the epidemic. Medical supplies have continuously flowed from all over the world to China and arrived in Zhongshan. In addition, international friendly cities, organizations and friends from over a dozen countries have either sent letters of sympathy, or donated materials, actively provided procurement information on badly needed materials...

As of February 23, Zhongshan has received more than one million pieces of medical protective materials donated by overseas fellow villagers and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and more than 100,000 pieces of donated medical materials are still on the way. A donation of more than 5 million yuan was pledged by overseas fellow villagers and compatriots in Hong Kong and Macao, while another donation of nearly 5 million yuan was pledged by compatriots in Taiwan. According to incomplete statistics, these donations have accounted for more than 1/4 of anti-epidemic donations received by Zhongshan.
