On March 31, a total of 100,000 packed medical masks were ready to be sent from Wuguishan District to Peru, traveling 17,047 kilometers by air. These masks will be received by the Chinese Embassy in Peru, and then be transferred to Zhongshan fellow countrymen in Peru for daily use and further distribution.

When the domestic epidemic was in serious condition earlier, overseas Zhongshan fellow countrymen, including compatriots from Peru and Costa Rica, tried every means to buy a large number of masks to send back to their hometown to jointly fight the epidemic. 

"Many of these Zhongshan people living in Peru are from Wuguishan District. They lent a helping hand in our time of need. Now they need help and we shall give back." Feng Jinyi, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Wuguishan District, said that the masks given to overseas Chinese were all produced by Zhongqing Medical Technology Co Ltd in Wuguishan District's Guinan Village.

On March 6, in order to meet the needs of epidemic prevention and control, the company changed its production and business from medical devices to disposable medical masks. Currently, the company's daily output of masks exceeds 200,000.

It is reported that this is the second batch of epidemic prevention materials given to overseas Chinese by Wuguishan District. The first batch of 100,000 masks have already been sent to Costa Rica.
