The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Finance plan to include 259 townships such as Changyang Town in Fangshan District of Beijing in the construction of "Agricultural Industry Strong Towns". A total of 12 villages and towns in Guangdong Province were selected, including Zhongshan's Huangpu Town.

The central government will allocate 10 million yuan each to the newly-approved villages and towns to improve key areas in their development and operation, such as refrigeration and preservation, processing and marketing, etc.

"Huangpu Town which is selected as a strong town will further explore the productive value of preserved meats and improve the overall development level of the industry," the head of the municipal agriculture and rural affairs bureau of Zhongshan said.
