Although affected by COVID-19 epidemic, from January to March, the business volume of express service enterprises in Zhongshan city totaled 90.7483 million pieces, up 8.75% year on year. Business revenue totaled 1.073 billion yuan, up 12.32% year on year.

Compared with the first quarter of 2019, the city's express volume decreased slightly in January and February this year, but it increased rapidly in March. The express business volume in March reached 45.8538 million pieces, up 25.37% year on year; Business revenue reached 506 million yuan, up 32.90% year on year.

From January to March, Zhongshan's postal delivery service volume totaled 14.177 million pieces, up 23.91% year on year. Revenue from postal delivery services totaled 37.905 million yuan, down 10.81% year on year. Staff from the Zhongshan Municipal Postal Administration said that the decline in business income was mainly related to the large amount of epidemic prevention materials they delivered to epidemic areas free of charge in the first quarter.

The Zhongshan Municipal Postal Administration delivered the first batch of drugs to Wuhan Branch Red Cross Society of China free of charge on January 29. As of April 17, it has delivered 18 batches of epidemic prevention materials donated by 15 of its clients to aid Hubei.
