The Henglan section of Zhongkai Expressway (Zhongshan-Kaiping Expressway) is currently ready for construction.

The Henglan section is divided into the bridge section (more than 300 meters long) and the elevated road section in Henglan Town (about 5.8 kilometers long). At present, the underwater foundation of the bridge section between Zhongshan and Xinhui District of Jiangmen City has been completed, and the foundational pillars are under construction.

The project will cost 1 billion yuan in total, and is scheduled to be completed in June 2023.

According to the plan, the Zhongkai Expressway will have a hub and an interchange in Henglan Town, thus forming a seamless connection with the West Ring Expressway that is under construction. With the completion of the interchange, vehicles can freely head to Zhuhai, Shenzhen, or Zhongshan downtown area.
