On the morning of June 16, local time, a total of 410 officers and soldiers of China's 18th peacekeeping multi-functional engineering unit, construction engineering unit and medical unit dispatched to Lebanon were awarded the United Nations Peace Medal of Honor by the UN Interim Force in Lebanon in recognition of their outstanding contribution to peace and stability in southern Lebanon.

Jian Zhiquan, one of the winners of this honor, is from Zhongshan city.

Jian is a native villager of Guinan Village, Wuguishan District, and was drafted into the army in 2012. In 2019, he was successfully selected for China's 18th peacekeeping force sent to Lebanon.

Jian Zhiquan says that the Peace Medal of Honor is the highest praise for peace-keeping forces. He will continue to strictly discipline himself with high standards and contribute his strength to the cause of peace and national defense.
