Zhongshan on June 29 held a press conference on the achievements of poverty alleviation. Wang Shaoqiang, executive deputy director of the Zhongshan Poverty Alleviation Office, introduced the situation and results of poverty alleviation and counterpart cooperation between Zhongshan and the west part of China.

Since 2016, Zhongshan has been helping 131 relatively-poor villages in Zhaoqing and Chaozhou cities, which contain 6,073 poor families and 17,574 registered people. At the same time, Zhongshan also helped Daguan, Yanjin, Suijiang and Yongshan counties in Zhaotong city, Yunnan Province in poverty alleviation.

At present, all villages and families in Zhaoqing and Chaozhou in the poverty alleviation project have been lifted out of poverty, and the 4 counties  in Zhaotong mentioned above have overcome poverty.
