June 30 marks the "Guangdong Poverty Alleviation Day". The "Suijiang Half Red Plum Promotion Tour of the Zhongshan-Zhaotong Poverty Alleviation Cooperation on Special Agricultural Products" was launched in Lihe Plaza on that day. The promotion tour will last for 9 days at four places, where citizens can buy these plums to help the poor.

On the same day, not only migrant students but also migrant workers from Suijiang attended the event to enjoy the taste of their hometown and actively promote their hometown specialties to the citizens of Zhongshan.

Suijiang of Zhaotong City is a state-supported poverty-stricken county partnered with Zhongshan's East District in the poverty alleviation program. Plums grown in Suijiang are particularly sweet and crisp, with a good fragrance and full of nutrients. In 2018, "Half Red" Plum was registered as a national Product Geographical Indication, and now the fruits are sold at home and abroad, ranking among the top 3 fruit exports in Yunnan province.

Since 2018, Zhongshan poverty alleviation cadres have brought "Half Red" plums back to Zhongshan for sales and promotion.
