From July 1 to 10, the International School for Informatics "Junior" 2020 (ISIJ) was held simultaneously around the world. Three third year students from Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School in Zhongshan took part on behalf of Chinese students. In the end, one won the gold medal and two won the silver in Group A.

The competition attracted 180 competitors and coaches from more than 10 countries and regions across the world. The China Computer Federation (CCF) sent out 30 players to form a Chinese team to the competition, of which 3 were from Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School.

It is the third time that China has taken part in ISIJ, and remained in first place according to the total score of the team and in the number of gold medal winners.
