The 2020 World Footbag Championship was broadcast live around the world a few days ago to announce the results of various events and display the players' videos. Zhong Jiayao from Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan won a gold medal in the Men's Medium Group Triple Strikes event. As the first Chinese female player to ever participate in the competition, Liu Yeting won 1 silver and 1 bronze in the Women's Group Triple Strikes and Individual Skills Competition events.

Footbag, or freestyle footbag, is an emerging sports event, which has swept around the world rapidly with its unique charm. It is familiar to Xiaolan players.

"Since 2009, our athletes have gradually got into this sports event," said the head of the winning player's club, adding that after learning about the footbag sport, Li Wentao, an athlete of the club, downloaded videos for self-learning.

In 2017, Li Wentao, who is the first Chinese player since it has been held, took part in the 38th World Footbag Championships held in the United States. In 2018, he took part in the competition as the only Chinese footbag athlete invited by the organizing committee and won a silver medal, becoming the first Chinese athlete to win a medal in this competition.

In 2019, Li Wentao and Zhong Jiayao took part in 11 of the 24 events, of which they placed in the top 3 in 5 events, won 3 world championships, and became the first Chinese team to take the crown.
